The lab glassware instruments often used in experiments should be cleaned and cleaned after the experiment is completed. According to different experiments, there are different requirements for the drying of glassware. Usually, the beakers and conical flasks used in the experiment can be used after being washed. Glassware used in organic chemistry or organic analysis requires drying after washing.
1. Air Drying:
Glass equipment that is not urgently used can be inverted in pure water and then placed in a dust-free place, and then naturally dried. The glass instrument is usually placed in a glass cabinet.
2. Drying:
The cleaned glass instrument should pour out the pure water as much as possible and dry it in an electric oven with a blower. The oven temperature was maintained at 105-120 ° C for about 1 h. After the weighing bottle is dried, it should be placed in a desiccator for cooling.
The combined glass instrument needs to be separated and dried to avoid cracking due to different expansion coefficients. Sand core glass and thick-walled glass instruments must be slowly heated and the temperature should not be too high to avoid cracking. The drying temperature of the glass measuring device should not be too high to avoid volume change.
3. Blow dry:
Glassware that is small and urgently needed to be dried can be blown dry with a hair dryer. First, pour it into the instrument with a small amount of ethanol and acetone (or ether), pour it out, and then remove the solvent. Then, blow it with a hair dryer, start to use cold air, and then blow the glass instrument dry with hot air.
