Inspection method before use of burette

1、What is the method of oiling an acid burette?

Remove the piston, use a clean paper or cloth to dry the inner wall of the piston and the sleeve. Use our fingers to apply a small amount of Vaseline to apply a thin circle on both ends of the piston. Do not apply Vaseline on both sides of the piston hole to avoid blocking.

Hold the piston hole, apply it, put the piston back into the sleeve, rotate the piston a few times in the same direction, make the Vaseline evenly transparent, then use the rubber ring to cover the piston and fix it in the sleeve to prevent slipping out.

  1. How todoacid burette leak test?

Close the piston, fill the distilled water to a certain engraved line, and stand the burette for about 2 minutes. Observe carefully whether the liquid level on the engraving line is falling, whether there is water dropping on the lower end of the burette, and there is water leaking in the piston gap, then turn the piston 180 and wait for 2 min and observe again. If there is water leakage, dry the oil again.

  1. How todobasic burette leak test ?

Install distilled water to a certain engraved line, erect the burette for about 2 minutes, and carefully observe whether the liquid level on the engraved line is falling, or whether there is dripping water on the tip of the lower end of the burette. If there is water leakage, replace the glass beads in the hose and select one. The glass bead size should be relatively smooth and matched with the re-test as too small or not smooth glass bead may lead burtte leak water and make It too inconvenient to operate too much.

  1. How to install solutions in acid burettes?

Before loading, shake the standard solution in the bottle to make the water condense on the inner wall of the bottle and mix it into the solution. In order to remove the residual moisture in the burette and ensure the concentration of the standard solution is unchanged, the burette should be rinsed with this standard solution 2– 3 times with about 10mL each time and a small amount (about 1/3) is released from the lower mouth to wash the tip portion.

The piston should be closed across the burette and slowly rotated to bring the solution into contact with the inner wall of the tube. Finally, the solution is taken from the tube and discard, but do not open the piston to prevent grease from the piston from rushing into the tube. Try to empty and then wash the second time, each time we need to rinse the tip part, so after washing 2 – 3 times, we can load the standard solution to above the “0” engraved line.

  1. How is the basic burette removed?

The basic burette should bend the hose upwards and squeeze the glass beads hard to spray the solution from the tip to eliminate air bubbles. The bubbles in the basic burette are generally hidden near the glass beads. It is necessary to check whether the bubbles in the hose are completely exhausted. After that, adjust the liquid level to 0.00mL, or write down the initial reading.
